'The government is ours, the Police is ours. We will chase anyone away,' Tourism Development and Christian Affairs Minister John Amaratunga said, addressing a public meeting yesterday.
"All we want is your precious vote," Amaratunga said, talking to his supporters.
Amaratunga was also the Minister in charge of the Police during the first phase of the unity government.
The Minister also assured that the government would take measures to import rice and coconut to make the prices competitive in the market.
"No point in blaming the government for the rising cost of living. But we will take immediate measures to bring the prices down," he added.
The Minister also stated that he would help anyone to get National Identity Cards so that they could vote at the next election.
