United National Party Parliamentarian S.M. Marikkar denies having exerted any influence over the UNP’s Kolonnawa nominations list, especially in the wake of the media allegations which purport to say that he had influenced the striking-off the nomination of Sumana Premachandra, the wife of late Baratha Lakshman Premachandra.
It was also reported that Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe had rejected the UNP’s finalized nomination list for Kolonnawa.
When contacted by News24, MP S.M. Markkar said that the media allegations in this regard had been fable against him, by a Minister of the UNP.
