State Minister of Foreign Affairs Wasantha Senanayake says that a decision must be taken by senior members of the party before submitting a no- confidence motion.
The State Minister made this observation, when commenting on State Minister Palitha Range Bandara’s statement in Puttalam yesterday, stating that a no- confidence motion will be brought against the leader of the United National Party Ranil Wickremesinghe.
State Minister Bandara also said that a group of UNP MPs have voiced their support to submit the no- confidence motion calling on Wickrmesinghe to step down as Prime Minister and UNP Leader.
However, responding to this, State Minister Senanayake said that senior members, including the leaders of the United National Party will have to take a prompt decision to avert this crisis.
Meanwhile, MP Gamini Lokuge says the Joint Opposition Party will support the no- confidence motion submitted against Prime Minister Ranil Wickrmesinghe.
Also, MP Lasantha Alagiyawanna has said that the Sri Lanka Freedom party led United People’s Freedom Alliance too will support the no- confidence motion submitted against Ranil Wickremesinghe.
