President undertakes five day visit to Japan

President Maithripala Sirisena will commence his 5 –day state visit to Japan today.

President Sirisena, who is in India for the Founding Conference of the International Solar Alliance in New Delhi, will leave for Japan from India.

The President is to visit Japan on an invitation extended by Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, while he is due to hold discussions with the Emperor of Japan Akhito and his wife Michiko during his state visit.

President Sirisena will also meet businessmen and investors during his stay in Japan.
