Former Sri Lanka cricket vice-captain Aravinda de Silva has filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Police about a person using a fake Facebook profile to impersonate him on the social media network.
Aravinda told the CID that he was not a user of Facebook and not a fan of social media networks and has come to know of the incident because the problem has escalated to the point at which he was receiving phone calls telling him he was being impersonated on Facebook.
Aravinda has requested the CID to make speedy investigations to discover the person impersonating him on Facebook as false information as the fake profile was spreading false information about Aravinda on the social media network.
