Team India defeated Bangladesh by 4 wickets to clinch the T20 tri-series in Colombo.
Set a target of 167, the Men in Blue won off the last ball. Rohit Sharma (56) led the way. Dinesh Karthik was the hero with an unbeaten 8-ball 29 which saw India home.
Rohit's men needed 34 off the last two overs when Karthik's bold hitting plundered 22 off the 19th over. The Bangladeshis began to wilt under pressure and the penultimate ball proved crucial. Vijay Shankar was caught but not before crossing and giving Karthik the strike for the last delivery. That proved to go in our favour.
Earlier, Bangladesh made 166/8. Yuzvendra Chahal (3/18) was the pick of the bowlers. Sabbir Rahman slammed a 50-ball 77.
Rohit Sharma continued his good run as stand-in skipper with India winning 4 out of 5 games. Virat Kohli shall resume at the helm when India play again in June. India started the tournament with a loss to hosts Sri Lanka but then bounced back to win 3 on the trot and enter the final. The title clash proved to be an epic battle but eventually the Men in Blue came out on top. No MS Dhoni, no Kohli and no Hardik Pandya, well no problem!
