The Centre for Disaster Management says there is no impact for Sri Lanka after a 5.5 magnitude earthquake was reported overnight in Uttarakhand in India with tremors being felt in New Delhi.
The Centre urged the public not to panic over false rumours spread via social media with regard to a tsunami or other natural disasters.
Meanwhile, The Sri Lanka cricket team concluded its test series against India with the last game being played in New Delhi yesterday.
Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed that no team members were injured following the earthquake, adding that the team will be heading to Kolkata for the ODI series.
