Several Railway Trade Unions state that a 48-hour strike would be launched commencing from midnight tomorrow, based on several demands.
Chief Secretary of the Railway Locomotive Operators Association P.M.P. Peiris expressing his views to News24 said that although the relevant authorities had been informed regarding their demands, they had not yet been met with a response.
Recently a strike by Railway Sector Trade Unions was called off following interventions by Deputy Minister of Transportation Ashok Abeysinghe.
