Joint Trade Unions of Nurses, Professions Supplementary to Medicine and Paramedics have launched a strike action over several demands.
Joint Convenor of the Unions Saman Rathnapriya said the strike action commenced at 7 this morning and will be carried out for 24 hours.
He pointed out that the cause for the strike action was the government’s failure to implement increments promised in 2013 and 2016.
