Chief Veterinarian of the Colombo Municipal council Vipula Dharmawardhana states that meet stalls within the Colombo Municipal Council limits would be standardised in accordance with international regulations.
Speaking to News24 Dharmawardhana said that the aim of the initiative was to provide the public with hygienic meat products.
He also said that at present meat stalls operated by the Municipal Council as well as private owned stalls operated under poor hygienic conditions, often leading to health complications of the consumer.
