The Criminal Investigations Department has revealed that former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, who has been named as the 1st accused in the Central Bank Treasury Bond scam, was not present in the given address in Singapore.
The CID revealed this after summons, which were issued by Courts and sent to the address in Singapore, was returned to the Department.
The Court had issued summons to Mahendran for the 2nd time, requesting him to appear for a meeting with the Director general of the Criminal Investigations Department with regard to the Bond scam.
The Court had thereafter ordered the CID to send the summons to Mahendran through an international courier service.
However, the courier service had returned the summons back to the CID, claiming that there was no individual under the name Mahendran residing at the given address in Singapore.
The CID states it is working on requesting the Court to issue a warrant to arrest Arjuna Mahendran.
